My daughter requested a spiral mobile to hang over my grandson's bed. This is what I came up with. I use reclaimed copper gutter. Hammered a large section, cut a spiral with regular scissors. The metal is 24 gauge I think. folded the center end piece up to add a hook on it. This will be what it hangs from the ceiling with. The colors are achieved by careful heating with a torch. I sealed it with ProtectaClear and added a tear drop glass charm on the end.
My jewelry is made to be worn more on a casual dress style. It works well with those everyday casual wear, office work or with a simple black dress for a night out. I don't create with flashy colors or stones because it's not "my" personal preference. I say all this because I want you to know that even though I don't create often outside that box, I CAN and WILL create more elaborate and upscale jewelry for anyone that requests it.
If you have an event coming up and want to create something special, we can do that together, with stones of your choice, and metal of your choice. Feel free to message me and we'll create something amazing together.
So every time I start thinking about how maybe I should just quit all this nonsense and do something “useful”. I look back at where I was 5 years ago. I look at the custom work I created for people and I remember why I do what I do. Why I work non stop every single day. Why I wear my body out physically to create just one hand hammered piece. Why I continue to push and learn new techniques to better my skills and creations. I remember that I have a passion. I have a love for life that needs to be shared. And in sharing that passion, maybe, just maybe it will inspire one other person to keep following their dreams.
