An acorn from our Granddaddy Oak tree in our yard here in Louisiana. The ground is always covered with them every year. I used Craig Dabler's sandcasting kit to cast this one in sterling silver. I save all my scraps of silver from different projects and use them to cast things like this. So no metal goes to waste in my shop. Every bit is saved to use in casting new items. Recycling is Beautiful.
Blast from the Past. Created this years ago, still love it! Hand hammered on a stump with a ball peen hammer. This is Ms Kitty. Created from a reclaimed copper gutter. Riveted together with aluminum rivets. It's almost 4 ft by 4ft. Hangs in my living room. I love the patina on it. Has a steampunk style heart, key in one tentacle and a pocket watch dangling from the right side tentacle.
When I first started working with coin jewelry I called my business Centsations. I now just use LoraLeeArtist to cover any medium I work with. This sculpture was my Survivors Heart. I am thrilled that it now hangs in the home of an amazing woman. A survivor in her own right. Life is beautiful. Recycling is Beautiful!
